The red spot with black center on this Dainichi Showa's face makes this fish a rare and beautiful specimen. The pattern down the back is reminiscent of a checkerboard with a large patch of black to come up later in the back half of the fish to give it balance as it ages. This is a great koi to study how the sumi changes and finishes in high class koi.
